Anya Taylor-Joy & Drew Starkey Begin Filming 'Lucky' Series, First Look Photos Revealed!

Anya Taylor-Joy and Drew Starkey share an embrace in this first look photo from their upcoming new series Lucky!

The 28-year-old Emmy-nominated actress stars as the titular character and the 31-year-old actor portrays Carey, her husband. Anya and Drew kicked off filming in Las Vegas, before production moves to it’s main location in Los Angeles, according to Deadline. Keep reading to find out more… Lucky “centers on a young woman (Taylor-Joy) who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.” Drew was just revealed to be cast in the limited drama series on Monday (February 24), the day after he attended the 2025 SAG Awards in LA, where he presented an award with Millie Bobby Brown.

Also set to star in the series are Annette Bening as Priscilla, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Billie and Timothy Olyphant as John, who is reportedly Lucky’s father. Jonathan Topper is co-showrunner, writer and executive producer. Reese Witherspoon is also serving as an executive producer through her Hello Sunshine banner. Jonathan Van Tulleken is directing several episodes, including the pilot, and serve as EP. Greg Yaitanes and Jet Wilkinson have also been tapped to direct two episodes.
