deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Jasmine Cephas Jones (Origin, Blindspotting) has joined the cast of Lanterns, HBO’s upcoming drama series based on the Green Lantern DC comic.
She joins the previously announced cast: Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen.
The series, from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
In a key guest-starring role, Cephas Jones plays ‘Young Bernadette,’ Stewart’s resilient mother and forever the family fixer.
