Zack Sharf Digital News Director With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil officially a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, another actor from Netflix’s run of Marvel shows is now seeking a chance to return.
That would be Finn Jones, who starred as Danny Rand (aka Iron Fist) in two seasons of Netflix’s “Iron Fist” and also played the superhero in “Luke Cage” and “The Defenders.” Jones’ series was widely considered by critics and fans to be the worst of Netflix’s Marvel shows, which also included “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones.” Jones recently appeared at the LaConve anime convention in Mexico (via IGN) and noted there’s a “willingness for the fans to see” his return as Iron Fist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios’ streaming and TV boss Brad Winderbaum stirred up buzz in February by telling Entertainment Weekly that the MCU was “exploring” bringing back Cox’s fellow Netflix heroes, which would include Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Jones’ Iron Fist. “I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it,” Jones admitted. “My response to that is like, give me a fucking chance, man.
I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen.” Netflix’s run of Marvel originals got its start with the launch of “Daredevil” in April 2015.
