Wanderers made a total of eight signings in the previous transfer window, many of them loan deals for players until the end of the season.
But two were permanent and both came in central midfield in the form of MJ Williams and Kieran Lee. Williams left League One side Blackpool to link up at the University of Bolton Stadium, while former Manchester United midfielder Lee had been a free agent since leaving Championship side Sheffield Wednesday last summer.
