The 29-year-old has been ruled out of Saturday's home clash against Walsall and beyond after it was confirmed he had picked up the injury in last weekend's win on the road against Port Vale.
The Wanderers skipper was replaced in the first half of the clash against the Valiants after pulling up and signalling to the Bolton bench that he needed to be substituted.
