The 33-year-old joined Wanderers last summer having been the top scorer in League Two for previous side Swindon Town. Doyle took a month after the season started to score his first goal for the Trotters and scored his 15th goal of the season over the weekend.
The Irishman netted from the penalty spot to score what proved to be the winner against Walsall at the University of Bolton Stadium.
