Janey Godley 'vulnerable' after cancer diagnosis and vows to keep wearing face mask

Janey Godley has told her followers that she will continue to wear a mask despite government restrictions being eased. Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish Government has advised that it will no longer be necessary to wear a face covering in public places.

However comedian Janey, who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer, has decided to take a leaf out of Dragons’ Den mentor Deborah Meadon's book – and insisted that she will continue to wear a face mask despite the new measures.

Janey told her followers that she was still feeling very vulnerable following her cancer diagnosis which came after she experienced symptoms during her November tour.

She had suffered bloating, appetite loss, back pain, and frequent urination before being diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer following a hysterectomy in January.Janey, who recently got her husband to shave her hair to a number one, told her followers: "Mask mandates will soon be gone, I am immune compromised due to chemo, so I will continue to wear one, please if you see me out and about can I please politely ask you to bear that in mind and keep a distance when we have a wee chat in the street or in the shops or wherever?"The Scots comedian will continue to undergo treatment for her disease and fans fully supported her decision.One said: 'I am not immune compromised etc but will happily keep@wearing a mask when in shops, on transport, with other peeps around, to protect those who may need it.
