Jamie Carragher has said that Cristiano Ronaldo needs to leave Manchester United in order for the club to start rebuilding under Erik ten Hag.
The future of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been a constant backdrop to United's summer transfer window. There are now less than two weeks to go until the September 1 deadline and Ronaldo's future at the club is still yet to be decided.
After missing the club's pre-season tour, the 37-year-old featured in the first two Premier League matches under Ten Hag, with the Portuguese international in the starting XI for the 4-0 defeat to Brentford.
It is believed that Ronaldo wants to leave United in order to join a Champions League club and Ten Hag would not prevent this from happening.
