James Murdoch, Barry Diller, Peter Chernin and Michael Lynton are among the 88 top current and retired executives who have signed on to a letter endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
In the open letter, first reported by CNBC, the executives say that Harris’ election is “the best way to support the continued strength, security, and reliability of our democracy and economy.” Their endorsements are not particularly surprising, given the history of backing Democratic presidential campaigns in the past.
Murdoch, founder and CEO of Lupa Systems, is the former CEO of 21st Century Fox who has departed from the family business. He hosted President Joe Biden at his home in 2022 for a fundraiser for midterm candidates, and backed Biden’s campaign in 2020.
Diller is chairman and senior executive of IAC and senior executive of Expedia; Lynton is the chairman of Snap Inc. and former CEO of Sony Entertainment; and Chernin is the co-founder and partner of TCG.
