James Lock has vowed to get away from his "TOWIE bad boy" image after deciding to go teetotal earlier this year. The reality star, 35, is currently starring on Celebrity Ex On The Beach and is about to start filming star-studded movie The London Game next month, where he has a main role.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, James said going teetotal has helped him to stay focused on his career and progression as he explores new opportunities as an actor.

The TOWIE legend also wants to show people he has changed from his "bad boy" days and insisted that he has since matured, adding: "I've grown up and I want to show people that." "I feel like, as much as having a drink - there's nothing wrong with having a drink, you know, an occasional drink - it's all part of a balanced lifestyle.

But for me, personally, for me to stay focused I needed a clear head and drink always clouds my judgement. It deters me off course from where I want to go. "At the minute, I'm so focused on where I want to be I just don't want any hiccups if you like." James went on to praise challenges such as Dry January, which encourages people to go alcohol-free for one month, adding: "I think it's good to have a little detox, especially after the old party season. "I'm not saying I'm never going to drink again, I'm thinking I'll drink in the right environments, in the right company at the right time.
