James Drury has died at the age of 85, his assistant has confirmed. The Hollywood actor starred in The Virginian, one of the longest-running Westerns in television history.
His assistant, Karen Lindsey, confirmed the sad news on Facebook, saying the actor had died today of natural causes. The star also appeared in several Westerns on the big screen, including Ten Who Dares in 1960 and Ride the High Country in 1962.
He was best known for his role as the no-nonsense foreman of the Shiloh Ranch in TV series The Virginian. During his career, James also starred alongside Elvis Presley in his 1956 movie Love Me Tender and with Pat Boone in 1957's Bernardine.
