Ladies man Max Branning took Walford by storm when he arrived in June 2006. Jim Branning's wayward son rocked up with wife Tanya and kids Lauren and Abi in tow - and it wasn't long before he was having an affairs, being buried alive and taking over Albert Square.

Actor Jake Wood rose to fame playing the bald businessman - but surprisingly it wasn't his first time on the iconic BBC soap.

Almost two decades before Max was introduced, Jake appeared on screen as a completely different character when he was just a teenager.

The young jobbing actor made it onto EastEnders after small parts in Only Fools and Horses, The Bill and Red Dwarf. In a very brief but vitally important role, Jake took part in EastEnders' first ever flashback episodes
