Hibs manager Jack Ross insists he doesn't see his side implementing a wage cut in the near future unlike Edinburgh rivals Hearts.
But the Easter Road boss reckons that the ever-increasing severity of the coronavirus pandemic currently crippling Scottish football means he can't rule anything out.
Hearts owner Ann Budge defended the 50 per cent cut in a statement on Thursday as the Gorgie side came under criticism that she found unfair.
Chairwoman Leeann Dempster has yet to introduce similar measures at Hibernian but Ross knows that even the tightest-run clubs will be in for setbacks.
