Brenda Blethyn has discussed the possibility of a new season of her detective series Vera.The popular ITV drama returned for its 13th series yesterday evening with David Leon returning as DS Joe Ashworth after Aiden Healy star Kenny Doughty quit the show at the end of the latest Christmas special.
At the start of the new series, Vera will be left on her own without a sidekick but Joe's return will likely leave her feeling a bit put out.
With Joe's return not all that it seems, fans are speculating whether the ITV drama will get a fresh series after these three feature TV series or if it will mark the end of the show for good, the Mirror reports.When asked about the future of the series and if she'll be back for another stint, Brenda gave a six-word reply as she said: "At the moment there's nothing planned."The DCI Vera Stanhope actress added: "But that’s not to say they’re not talking about it.
