When ITV’s Vera finally comes to an end after 13 seasons this month, there will be a crime drama shaped hole in the life of many fans.
But there’s good news on the horizon as it’s been revealed that the much-loved programme, starring Brenda Blethyn, will be replaced on the TV schedule by another popular production.
ITV bosses have confirmed that Trigger Point starring Vicky McClure, which had been due to air at some time in January, will be taking up the Sunday spot on ITV at 8pm after the last ever Vera this weekend.
John Williams, Head of Scheduling Strategy, took to X, formerly Twitter, to say: “Confirmed; #TriggerPoint series 2 launches on Sunday 28th Jan on @ITV @ITVX with @Vicky_McClure Catch up with series 1 now via ITVX."ITV also shared the news on the channel’s official Instagram page as a post featuring a countdown to broadcast read: “The countdown is almost over…Brand-new #TriggerPoint returns Sunday 28th January at 9pm on ITV1 and @itvxofficial."
