The victim had endured an assault and been left a considerable distance from home; Vera endeavoured to unravel the mystery behind the circumstances.In her concluding moments on screen, Vera heroically prevented the murder of a young girl named Chloe, confessing that she saw reflections of her own past in the youngster.
Offering heartfelt advice, she told Chloe: "Life's just one scary decision after another," before suggesting the team go for drinks to celebrate their success.
Opting out of the celebration, Vera instead chose solitude and reflection, stepping outside the pub to admire the scenery. There, she shared her contemplations with her colleague: "You know what, this case has really made me think, and I did see a lot of myself in young Chloe, it made me think of a lot of things, like how good my team is.
