This Morning viewers were quick to comment on social media as a 'joke' they made just 24 hours earlier became a reality. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (March 15) for their penultimate show of the week.
The hosts had another busy programme on their hands but it was cut short. The usual two-and-a-half-hour programme, which usually airs between 10am and 12.30pm, was shortened by 15 minutes due to the Chancellor delivering his Spring Budget.
Following a game of Guess the Gadget to round off the show, Holly confirmed the show was ending early as she said: "We are finishing a little bit earlier today for the Spring Budget announcement which is up next." Phillip then sarcastically quipped: "Have a lovely budget," as Holly giggled and Phillip grinned at the camera. Also on the show, David Domoney was live from the This Morning Forest with his top gardening tips and it was John Torode who was in the kitchen with his one-pan roast leg of lamb with a herb crust cooked over potatoes.
