T'Pau vocalist Carol Decker was revealed as the celebrity behind the Tattoo costume on The Masked Singer.The star, aged 67, was voted out the show on Saturday (January 18) after ending up in the bottom two with the Dressed Crab, once all the contestants had preformed.Speaking to presenter Joel Dommett, Carol shared that she had "loved" being on the programme but was "gutted" to leave during the superhero-themed episode, remarking, "Everybody is amazing.
I'm gutted because it's the best fun ever."Carol found fame as the lead singer of the 80's pop band T'Pau, known for their hits such as 'Chine In Your Hand', 'Heart And Soul' and 'Valentine'.She had also released a solo single 'One Heart' and appeared in BBC's singing reality show 'Just The Two Of Us'.Additionally, the singer participated in Celebrity MasterChef in 2018 and in 2005's entertainment show 'Hit Me, Baby, One More Time'.Following the audience vote for favourite acts, it was revealed that Dressed Crab and Tattoo would have to face off to stay in the competition, having received the lowest number of votes.Dressed Crab performed a heartfelt rendition of 'Drift Away' by The Neville Brothers, and Tattoo covered Tina Turner's iconic 'Proud Mary'.Delivering the verdict for the panel, Maya Jama said it was the "hardest decision", but they chose to save Dressed Crab, resulting in Tattoo being eliminated.Before Carol revealed her identity, the panel made their final guesses.
Comedian Mo Gilligan suggested Australian singer Dannii Minogue, while presenter Davina McCall thought it might be singer and TV host Nicole Appleton.Love Island host Jama guessed former EastEnders star Lacey Turner, and talk show host Jonathan Ross speculated Countdown star Rachel Riley.
