Danny Jones has admitted he has 'found a dad' in his fellow I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here campmate Barry McGuigan following an 'estranged' relationship with his own father.
The McFly star's dad, Alan Jones, 72, left the family when Danny was 19, and the singer has previously revealed how he sought therapy for anxiety over the incident. "I had a massive bout of anxiety when I was 19 when my dad left," he told the Mail Online. "I feel sorry for any kid out there whose mum and dad have split up.
It's their responsibility, they chose to have the kids, so they've got to be adult about it and stay in touch." I idolised him, and my mum, they're my first people I looked up to." Last month, Danny's dad Alan spoke exclusively to the MailOnline and said he believes his divorce from Danny's mother Kathy 'ruined' his relationship with his son, who he describes as a 'lovely lad' with a 'heart of gold'.
