During Wednesday's episode of Good Morning Britain, Ed Balls had an awkward exchange with co-host Ranvir Singh while discussing the controversial topic of driving in flip flops.
The TV hosts were at odds over whether it's appropriate to drive while wearing such casual footwear. The disagreement escalated when a clip showed a man's opinion: "A: they are not safe, B: they can be slippery and C: the only way for people to learn is by giving them a fine." Back on air, Ranvir expressed her dismay at the suggestion of fines: "Oh that's harsh, giving a fine to people for wearing flip flops when the temperature is sore and your feet get hot," reports the Mirror.
Ed shot back, pointing out the potential risk: "You can wear flip flops but not drive in them." Ranvir was forced to contemplate the legality of her preference: "Well there's a new warning that your footwear can be in breach of a highway code.
