Liam Fox has revealed his latest role after he departed from Emmerdale after more than a decade in 2023, teasing that he's 'absolutely over the moon.' The 53-year-old actor starred as Dan Spencer on the ITV soap opera after joining the cast back in 2011 and remained on the show until his character left last year, as part of a storyline that saw Dan sent to prison, reports the Mirror.Liam went on to appear in panto production of Aladdin at Christmas, after the airing of his final scenes on the show, and has now revealed his 'next adventure'.

Liam took to social media to share the news with fans earlier this week, he announced he's joined the upcoming UK tour of the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

He shared the exciting news on Instagram earlier this week, posting a clip that unveiled his casting as Grandpa Potts in the production.He commented: "Absolutely over the moon to be able to announce my next adventure post [Emmerdale] as I join the cast of @chittyontour from this spring as #grandpapotts." Liam teased that he's "excited" and "blessed" in hashtags, before concluding: "Cannot wait to get started."The star will appear alongside Adam Garcia - whose credits include the film Coyote Ugly (2000) and stage productions such as Saturday Night Fever - who will play Caractacus Potts.

Further casting has yet to be announced.Ian Fleming's original novel, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang: The Magical Car, was released in 1964 and it was then turned into a film four years later, which starred Dick Van Dyke, the late Sally Ann Howes and the late Lionel Jeffries, among others.The upcoming tour is set to launch at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton in April.
