In Monday's episode of the ITV soap (July 29), Tom began circulating rumours that Belle was growing romantically close to Vinny Dingle after he saw them sharing a friendly embrace.
In another disturbing twist, Tom persuaded Belle to return home with Piper as their cottage remained vacant. He altered the door locks to assure her of the house's security, but managed to secure a copy of the new key for himself.
Tom also drained their joint bank account, leaving Belle financially stranded and vulnerable. The villain's calculated actions have placed Vinny at the centre of gossip and provided an excuse for his split with Belle.
