Despite feeling unwell and freezing in the middle of summer, Sue continued filming all day before going home and discovering she had sepsis.
She previously spoke about this terrifying health scare in 2019 on This Morning, explaining that she initially thought it was a flare-up of her IBS. "I went in on the Tuesday and late in the afternoon I said: 'Do you need me in this scene because I'm really not feeling great?
I need to go home and sleep'. My side was sore. Then I came in the next morning at half seven. It was the hottest day of the year but I was on set with a hot water bottle." She then shared that her Corrie co-star, Melanie Hill, who played Cathy Matthews, noticed her feet were purple and blue.
