Coronation Street viewers were left heartbroken on Wednesday (July 24) as Paul Foreman faced another tragic setback. Diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year, Paul's health has been rapidly declining in recent months.

A nurse's visit to his flat, which he shares with husband Billy, resulted in the devastating news that it was unsafe for him to use the stair lift or leave his home.

Despite Paul's feeble protestations that he "was fine", the nurse was quick to dismiss him, stating, "No Paul, it's dangerous".

Bernie Winter then suggested they could manually assist Paul up and down the stairs. She also voiced concerns about how her son would evacuate the property in case of a fire.
