ITV bosses fear queue-storm pair Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield may be booed at the National Television Awards. They have won a gong for This Morning every year since 2011.
But producers are worried they will be heckled at the Wembley Arena ceremony on October 13 amid claims they sneaked in to the Queen’s lying-in-state.
A source said: “They could be booed walking down the red carpet or even on stage. It’s a major concern.” A petition calling for ITV to sack them has more than 65,000 signatures.
The pair have not commented to camera about the scandal to avoid being mocked online.
