Sunseekers looking for a change of scenery after lockdown ends could have their prayers answered by this Sicilian town selling homes for just 90p (€1).

The sunsoaked village of Troina in Sicily, Italy is also offering buyers up to £22,000 to renovate the houses in a bid to restore the dwindling population.

Troina, once dubbed the 'Norman capital of Sicily,' is the latest Italian town to jump on the trend of selling super cheap homes to entice city-dwellers back to rural areas.

The move comes after an exodus of people who departed for busier areas of the country and a drooping tourist industry amid the restrictions of the pandemic.
