Greg Jardin, the writer and director of the new Netflix film It’s What’s Inside, is speaking out about the potential for a sequel.
The movie follows a group of friends who gather for a pre-wedding party that descends into an existential nightmare when an estranged friend arrives with a mysterious game that awakens long-hidden secrets, desires, and grudges.
The indie film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and Netflix purchased it for $17 million. “It was my first experience,” Greg told Variety. “With any of that stuff, there’s essentially a bidding war that lasted about 36 hours.
I was in meetings with our financiers and sales agent. But when the bidding war ended and Netflix bought it for $17 million, I was like, ‘I can’t believe they spent this.’ I still can’t.
