It’s official! The term ‘Second Gentleman’ has been added to the dictionary

It’s not only Kamala Harris that is making history these days, her husband Doug Emhoff is too. The former lawyer coined the term ‘Second Gentleman’ after his wife’s election victory alongside Joe Biden and now you can even find it  in the dictionary.

The former lawyer, whose handle is already @SecondGentleman on Twitter, shared the news via social media and gave a special tribute to his wife at the same time.

Merriam Webster defined the term as: ‘The husband or male partner of a vice president or second in command of a country or jurisdiction.’ Just like Kamala, Doug is racking up an impressive list of firsts.

Not only is he the first male spouse of a US Vice President, but he has also become the first Jewish spouse of an American VP, CNN
