Residents in a street where the remains of a baby were found in a house have spoken of their shock at the grim discovery.Crime scene investigators have been at a property in Wigan’s Marsh Green area following the “heartbreaking” discovery on Wednesday, April 10.Police said the body of a baby was found following a call from “a partner agency”.One woman said: “I’ve lived here for seven years and I’ve never seen anything like this.

I’ve got kids. It is worrying.”Other neighbours told Manchester Evening News they knew the people who live in the house where the discovery was made, but that they “kept to themselves”.One said they first realised something was wrong when they noticed police on the scene on Wednesday evening - but realised something was gravely wrong when a private ambulance appeared. The man added: “It’s awful.

I wouldn’t say this area is quiet per se, but I didn’t expect this. Nobody expected this.”He said he didn’t pay much attention to the police presence at first, but grew increasingly concerned as the days went on. “I thought it was just a domestic incident at first - I saw a woman come out the house who seemed hysterical."But then CSI came and I thought there must be more to it.

It’s heartbreaking.”A group of neighbours who live further down the street said they had watched CSI officers bring binfuls of rubbish out of the house and empty them into skips.“They must be tearing the house apart,” one said. “They’re looking for something.”A police car was also stationed on Valley Road in Pemberton this afternoon.
