A four day weekend will soon be upon us, courtesy of the Queen celebrating her Platinum Jubilee. The spring bank holiday, which usually falls on the last Monday in May, has been moved to Thursday 2 June instead.
Together with the special Queen's Jubilee bank holiday on Friday 3 June, it creates a long weekend to mark Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne.
The Queen, now 96 years old, is the world's longest-serving monarch. Queen Elizabeth II took to the throne following the death of her father, George VI, on 6 February 1952 when she was just 25 years old.
Events to commemorate the Jubilee have been planned up and down the country, from garden parties to a star-studded pop concert at Buckingham Palace.
