Despite the unprecedented challenges of 2020, overall consumption of recorded music in Ireland rose year-on-year, the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) can confirm today.
New data from the Official Charts Company and IRMA, illustrates the resilience of the Irish singles market, which saw a 19% year-on-year rise in 2020, with 71.8 million singles either streamed, downloaded or physically purchased.
Total streams broke 9 billion for the first time, up from 7.69 billion in 2019, while audio streams rose 20% to 8.2 billion.
