An insurance provider has agreed to provide housing for flooded out residents of Meadow Mill in Stockport, Stockport Council has confirmed.
The apartment block saw severe flooding on New Year's Day after the River Tame burst its banks and inundated the car park and lower floors.
More than 400 residents were evacuated from the stricken building by emergency services. However, many were left in limbo after the flooding.
Stockport Council had previously written a letter laying out concerns about the ongoing circumstances for residents. In the letter, the council said that "there has been little/no consideration for the ongoing plight of the residents affected".
