From the outside, it appears to be a typical suburban home. However, this house on an ordinary street in Oxton, Wirral, just an hour's drive from Manchester city centre, hides a unique secret that remained hidden for three decades.
Located in a Victorian era property at 8 Silverdale Road, the ground-floor flat inside the house is so unique it's just been awarded Grade II listed status.
After a long battle to preserve the property, the status was awarded thanks to the bizarre and brilliant artwork created by artist, and former tenant, Ron Gittins.
But it wasn't until after Ron's death in 2019, that his incredible world was discovered. A reserved man, Ron had covered every inch of his flat with incredible displays which range from a Minotaur fireplace to a giant painting of Cleopatra.
