The 33-year-old joined the show in 2015 and has since become a fan favourite, partnering up with show icons including Coronation Street’s Georgia May Foote, Steps star Faye Tozer, magic star Debbie McGee and deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who he won the competition with in 2021.The pair were awarded the coveted Glitterball Trophy after winning the hearts of the nation.
Following their triumph on the BBC One show, the duo embarked on a nationwide Strictly tour with their fellow contestants and professional dancers.According to reports the star was inspired to become a dancer by the TV show Come Dancing - which later inspired Strictly.Unsurprisingly for fans, the Italian star has many dancing achievements under his belt.
Giovanni was the Italian Open Latin Dance Champion in 2012, going on to break the Guinness World Record for Jive kicks and flicks performing 55 in 30 seconds in a challenge held in December 2016.The following year, the famed dancer broke the world record for the most Charleston swivel steps in 30 seconds where he correctly completed 24.
