Fred West was one of Britain's most horrifying serial killers and was responsible for the deaths of at least 12 people before he was eventually captured.
But before West could be sentenced to the rest of his life behind bars, he committed suicide in his prison cell as he awaited trial.
Fred carried out 10 of the murders with his wife Rose, who is currently serving a whole life sentence and will never be freed.
The twisted killer, who started his murder spree in 1967, was eventually arrested at his family home in Cromwell Street, Gloucester, in 1994, It was soon dubbed the 'house of horrors' as police found body parts buried in the garden and even the walls - Fred and Rose's own daughter, Heather, was among the victims.
