It's been 13 years since the fairytale wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, and a new book has now shed light on their tumultuous marriage journey. The couple, who wed in April 2011, appeared to be in marital bliss and have since welcomed three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Their love story began at St Andrews University, but a new royal book delves into the more turbulent times of their relationship, including their brief split in 2007, reports the Mirror. They rekindled their romance at a rather risque party, leading to their engagement in 2010.

In the biography titled 'Catherine, the Princess of Wales: The Biography', currently being serialised in the Daily Mail, author Robert Jobson explores the early days of their university courtship, the rocky period post-graduation, a heartbroken Kate, and how William was eventually drawn back....Kate Middleton first captured Prince William's attention wearing a daring see-through outfit at a university charity fashion show, but according to the new book by Mr Jobson, their paths crossed much earlier.

The royal biographer reveals that they actually met while William was studying at Eton and Kate was at Marlborough College, with the two schools having plenty of social interaction.Contrary to popular belief that St Andrews University was where they first met, Mr Jobson, drawing from a source close to the Middletons, states: "There was plenty of socialising [between pupils at both schools] back then, and they were known to each other."Initially, at university, they had separate partners; William was linked with fellow student Carly Massey-Birch and Kate dated law student Rupert Finch.
