dailystar.co.ukDaily Star's biggest headlines straight to your inbox!Yorkshire's gentle giant, Jonathan Thomson, has recreated a bit of golfing history as he bagged himself a hole-in-one to guarantee himself a spot at The Open over the weekend.The 25-year-old was diagnosed with leukaemia as a child, but he continued to play golf throughout his five year battle with the disease before it went into remission when he was 12.He is most known for his towering physique, and standing at 6ft"9, he is the tallest player in the tour's history.And on the sixteenth 'Jiggy' Thomson bagged an ace on the 162-yard par-three hole: to the delight of the crowd.It was the same hole that, in 1967, Tony Jacklin made the first hole in one ever televised, at the Dunlop Masters.
