And a few weeks before I gave birth, I took severance from my job. I was working for a mortgage company in Detroit, but the housing market has been slow and our department was really affected.I thought it would be okay because the money I was being paid in severance would take me through to November, my health care was still covered for six months, and I thought it would give me time to put into the beauty business I started recently.
But I think I thought I was superwoman, and that even while heavily pregnant and in the early days postpartum, I would be able to do what I needed to with my website: reaching out to businesses, pitching to carry their products on my site, promoting everything.
