Idrissa Akuna Elba OBE (born 6 September 1972) is an English actor, writer, producer, rapper, singer, songwriter and DJ. He is known for roles including Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). Idris revealed his diagnosis in a social media video on Twitter. With Sabrina by his side, Idris said: "Hey what's up guys, so look, this morning I got some test results back for coronavirus and it came back positive. "Yeah, and it sucks.
Listen, I'm doing okay. Sabrina hasn't been tested and she's doing okay." Idris and Sabrina have been in quarantine since learning he had been in contact with someone with the illness.
