Idrissa Akuna Elba OBE (born 6 September 1972) is an English actor, writer, producer, rapper, singer, songwriter and DJ. He is known for roles including Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). He has been nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, winning one, and was nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Idris Elba was spotted in London for the first time since his coronavirus battle. The Luther actor tested positive for Covid-19 in March, and isolated with wife Sabrina in New Mexico after being stranded in the US when the UK went into lockdown.

But, after making a full recovery, he returned home, and was seen out on a stroll in the capital. The 47-year-old rocked the casual look as he hit the streets, in a black t-shirt and jeans.

He completed the outfit with a black beanie hat and green trainers.
