IDLES have discussed the themes behind new album ‘CRAWLER’, and how trauma and taking accountability inspired the band’s fourth album.‘CRAWLER’ came out last Friday (November 12) via Partisan, and frontman Joe Talbot and guitarist/producer Mark Bowen spoke to NME for a new Big Read cover feature about the record.Discussing how the album is a reaction to their third album, 2020’s ‘Ultra Mono’, Talbot said: “The frustration and the alienation made us realise what we were doing wrong.
I realised that I needed to start holding myself accountable for my mis-translations in what I wanted to say and what I was actually saying in the songs.”He added: “I was in therapy for two years, and it made me realise that I was angry at the wrong people.
