However, Rangers have seen their first bid turfed out by the Cairo side as Philippe Clement looks to add to his squad before Friday's transfer deadline.
It is claimed that despite the initial rejection, the Light Blues are still "seeking to sign" Adel – and he is unlikely to be the only one on the Ibrox agenda in the coming days with the door left open to revive interest in Almeria defender Kaiky.
