Thierry Henry is Arsenal's record goalscorer with 228 goals. But the man he overtook for the top spot, Ian Wright, has recalled that the Frenchman was concerned he would not score enough goals when he first joined the club.
Henry arrived as a 22-year-old raw talent in the summer of 1999 after finding the net only three times for Juventus the previous season.
But, under the guidance of Arsene Wenger and with Wright entering the twilight of his career, he became an instant hit. Henry scored 26 goals in his debut campaign and bagged 20 goals or more in six straight campaigns, etching his name as arguably the greatest player in Arsenal history.
