Natural light, rain or shine, is often but a few steps away and yet we seem to forget this as we bundle into our cars or rush underground for our morning commute.
And it is morning sunlight - even if it is behind a thick wad of cloud- that can transform our sleep cycle and dial up our energy levels.
Many of us have tried banishing our phones from the bedroom, some of us have even gone so far as to purchase natural light mimicking lamps to combat SAD, but we seem to have glazed over the fact that sunlight is always there - and its free.
Neuroscientist Dr Andrew Huberman says that getting sunlight, as soon as you can in the morning, can do wonders for our circadian rhythms.
