Neighbours in Whalley Range have spoken of their shock after a man was knifed in a 'nasty' attack in Whalley Range. Police were called to Withington Road at around 8pm on Sunday (May 5) , before finding a man with stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were not deemed life-threatening. Greater Manchester Police said officers are 'determined to find the person responsible'.
No arrests have been made. A cordon remained in place today (Bank Holiday Monday) at the Bowling Green Court flats. Crime scene investigation specialists were seen trawling for clues and a 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He said people had been left 'shocked', and that neighbours were relatively 'close-knit'. Another person said their phone rang numerous times as concerned friends and family checked they were okay having seen the news.
