Ryan Rodney Reynolds (born October 23, 1976) is a Canadian actor, comedian, film producer and entrepreneur. He began his career starring in the Canadian teen soap opera Hillside (1991–1993) and had minor roles before landing the lead role on the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl between 1998 and 2001. Hugh Jackman reprises his X-Men superhero role in Deadpool & Wolverine and just revealed he committed to starring opposite Ryan Reynolds even before talking to his agent.

The actor said he thought he was done playing the superhero after his character was killed off in 2017’s Logan. However, Reynolds pitched him the idea of bringing Deadpool and Wolverine together, and he couldn’t resist putting on the claws again. “I was on my way, I was just driving, and literally, just like a bolt of lightning, came this knowing deep in my gut that I wanted to do this film with Ryan,” Jackman said in an interview with Fandango. “For Deapdool and Wolverine to come back together.
