'I'm no pushover - but what happened to me on that cruise really shocked me'

A mum who says she was mocked by another passenger onboard a cruise for her disability has spoken of her disgust. Wendi Fletcher, 54, says she endured an appalling encounter on holiday last year when a stranger ridiculed her condition and pushed her wheelchair into her.

It had been a difficult few years since the mum was diagnosed with a type of multiple sclerosis in 2019 after feeling a “strange heaviness” in her arm.

Relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) is a form of MS where symptoms come and go with flare-ups followed by recovery.

The condition causes fatigue, numbness, weakness, vision problems and pain. It can also lead to dizziness, balance issues and memory trouble.
