With the wet weather set to continue across Scotland, a vet has issued a warning to pet owners about the potential dangers brought on by the rainy conditions.
While rain itself is not dangerous for our beloved dogs, there are various risks the wet weather poses. The rain can increase the spread of potentially deadly bacteria, and moist conditions also create the perfect environment for parasite-ridden slugs and snails.
In order to help avoid any illnesses or potentially life threatening conditions, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and veterinary writer, Dr Sabrina Kong, shared a vital tip with TrustedHousesitters.
Speaking with the experts, Dr Kong insisted that pet toys and bowls should never be left outdoors during the rain. The wet weather can attract all types of creepy crawlies.
