Residents living on a street where armed police raced to reports of a man 'armed with a crossbow' have said they 'don't feel safe'.
A number of police vehicles descended on Sutherland Road at around 5pm. Witnesses reported seeing officers 'pointing guns at a house' before they burst through the door as children played outside.
Police cars were seen blocking the road before armed police were seen walking a handcuffed man into a van. The Manchester Evening News understands officers responded to reports of a man who was in possession of a crossbow. "They were pointing their firearms at the windows.
A few minutes later they broke the door down and shouted they were armed police." Horrified neighbours were seen watching on before further police vehicles arrived at the scene on Wednesday evening.
