Bolton were gearing up to welcome back live music and entertainment with restrictions set to be lifted. Today, a dark cloud of uncertainty has been cast over the same establishments as the government ordered them to close with immediate effect.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock has announced that Bolton pubs and restaurants will only be able to offer a takeaway service until further notice.
A curfew has also been put in place meaning venues cannot operate at all between 10pm and 5am. Last week, Definitely Maybe Bar was dealt an 11th hour blow as the government U-turned on plans to take Bolton out of 'local lockdown', as cases started to soar in a alarming fashion.
